Isn’t it exciting when you discover an author whose story is so captivating you think about it all day long, savoring that moment when it’s time to pick up the book once again? In my life, those times have been rare. Over a lifetime I’ve felt that way about Hugh Lofting, Tolkien, von Daniken and Rowling among a few others. But there’s one who occupies that lofty position in my mind today – Joel Rosenberg.
Rosenberg calls himself a Jewish believer in Jesus. He lives in Jerusalem and was a consultant to Benjamin Netanyahu and others in Israeli politics. In 1999 he became a novelist, and his first book The Last Jihad became a bestseller because it was eerily prophetic. The book was about terrorists who hijacked an aircraft and flew into an American city on a suicide mission, and it was released nine months prior to the attacks on September 11, 2001!
The man is not only a terrific writer of action thrillers, he became even more of a prophet. His other books predated and predicted the war in Iraq, the death of Osama bin Laden, the last days of Yasser Arafat and Israel’s withdrawal from the Gaza Strip.
I highly recommend subscribing to his newsletter. His insights into politics, world events and now COVID-19 are insightful and thought-provoking. What he says in his blog may not be for everyone, his books are a must-read for political thriller lovers. Start at the first – The Last Jihad – and move on from there. Happy reading!

I’m trying your recommendation for Mr. Rosenberg’s first book and have ordered it from ABE. I’ll let you know if it lives up to your thoughts on it. I am that same way as you about books. My Bill says he’s never seen a woman turn down an opportunity to go shopping because she’s trying to finish a book!
